Intro

I've altered the Aerosmith intro to be more "VH'y" of course since that's what we're doing here. This is a tricky riff, you'll have to be pretty slick to hit the harmonics. I actually missed the very first one in the song. BUT, as always leaving mistakes only makes things sound more VH'y not less. VH rarely fixed any mistakes, and often those mistakes are what gave transcribers trouble when trying to tab out VH songs. Or dudes like me trouble when we tried to learn them by ear.

Be sure to watch the video when I play this intro closely to observe what fingers I'm using to do this riffing. You can really back yourself into a corner and lose the whole effect of the thing if you use the wrong fingers to do this. That applies to the solo too by the way, but we'll deal with that when we get to it.

Effects are used very sparingly on this track. I only really kick on the Flanger in like 2 places, and the Phase 90 is only used for the Early VH inspired solo to this track. There are no effects except reverb on this intro portion.

Main Verse and Theme Riffing

Now what I've done here with this is alter it to more the way VH might do this riff in both position and accent hits.. I've blended "Feel your love tonight" with "Pretty Woman", and used the "Last child" main riff as foundation. What you end up with is a cool little beefed up altered version of the Last child riff, only VH'ized as we say...

Bridge

This is a classic VH style bridge section. It actually utilizes the same exact chords used in the Aerosmith version, however I've riffed them out and turned them in a sideways groove style VH'y bridge. This is sort of a mix of "Beautiful girls", and OU812 style bridge riffing, like on "Sucker in a 3 piece".

The chorus is very short, and I didn't alter it too much from the Aerosmith version, I simply made the lead part a bit more VH'y in style.

There are 2 guitar parts here. Guitar 1 (Black TABs) has no Flanger and Guitar 2 (Blue TABs) has Flanger.

Solo

This is a pure improv VH style solo with phrasings and themes taken from some early VH and some later Sammy era VH stuff.

The solo itself is over guitar chord pattern that's basically a riffed out version of what Aerosmith uses under the solo. I themed it for sort of a "Feel your love tonight" kind of thing. The Bass is driving an "E", and the solo is broken up by "D" to "A" chorus chord changes.

Another Trem picked speed pattern.. Keep the pick moving and let the Phaser spin the notes. Try to pick smoothly without any excess string noise or misses if possible..

Outro

This outro is a mix of 2 guitars. Guitar 1 is a constant playing the rhythm riff, and guitar 2 is doing a couple of different ending sections.

The Flanger is ONLY USED for the very ending part of the song. And there's actually 2 guitar going. Guitar 1 is set to the Flanger setting gave in the settings chart at the top of the page, and guitar 2 is using the VH model Flanger with the VH switch pushed in.
