The song opener is a little riff in Drop D.  It's one way that the Jingle Bell Rock main theme could be embellished on in the style of VH.  It's sort of a mix of Unchained type riffing with a little Baluchitherium thrown in for good measure.  The riff exists on the track thanks to Kelly really.  It was his idea to show another example of what could be done, and what you can get out of a song like Jingle Bell Rock..  We'll discus this on the video, and I'll show you some other examples of things that I could have done had I wanted to...

Main theme/ Verse Riff

This is riffed out version of the Jazzy chord pattern that's done in the original.  I've kept it along the lines of VH here by sticking to the rule of using the important notes in the riff.  The important notes are the ones that make the chords special.  I.e. the second chord in is D Maj7 in the original song.  So for our riff here, I used the C# as the accent note in the riff, since the C# is the "important" note in that D Maj7 chord.

Solo

The leads to this track are long, and demonstrate melodic soloing in the style of VH.  It's a combination of using notes from the chords and the benefit of having a fast changing chord pattern to solo over.  Players that are familiar with the fretboard love many chord changes under their solos.  Players that are not familiar with the fretboard, or at least the notes that make up the chords that they're soloing over find chord patterns like this a nightmare to solo over.

The entire solo is over the entire rhythm parts that are written above.  However I've changed the rhythm guitar to a more VH'y under solo power chord riffing pattern.  So I'm doing different versions of the same chords above.  In a lot of cases I'm doing the actual song under the solo, and not the remake version.  See video for help, and the tab names are written above the tabs of the solo of course.
