Full
band Kick in
A power chord mixed up
version of the intro riff above which is a mixed up altered version of the
actual Kinks riff itself. This song is a big chain of mixing up of the
riff and blending in some VH techniques... Watch the tab closely the
accent notes are important to this riffing.

Notes in Purple
have Flanger applied to them, notes in Black do not.

Verse section
Yet another version of the
riff. Take note that I've altered the riff even when I do it with
power chord. The little hit off of the "E" isn't something that the Kinks
did or even would do. It's more of a VH'y thing to do.

Apply a slight palm mute to these
chords, and also please note
that there's no flanger in this part..

Bridge
For the bridge I have
re-written VH style what the Kinks did. The Kinks song is 1 step lower
in key than this Vin Heuton track. Their bridge is based on a "Bb, F, C,
D" chord pattern. My bridge is based on a "C, G, D, E" chord pattern....
Since we're doing VH style here, I have altered the "G" chord and done a "G/B"
chord. I've put the "B" or the 3rd of the "G" chord as the bass note for
that "C" to "G" chord change.. This gives the part a whole new vibe.
I've also added a melody guitar part as well...

Solo
For the solo I've totally
re-done what the Kinks did for theirs. I've done a very VH thing with
this solo by adding in a pre-solo lead in that consists of some sort of
chromatically moving chord pattern. You hear this sort of thing as a post
solo in Jump for example. Either way you want to slice it, Vh often did
their own soloing sections for the cover songs they did and this Vin Heuton
track is no exception to that little rule...
Take note of the chords you're
soloing over, and also try your hand at being the rhythm guitar as well as the
lead.. I've tabbed out both rhythm guitar and lead guitar parts for you
below.. As that's where the lesson is in some respect...

Rhythm guitar part: No phase 90 on this

does patterns like this all the time and they almost always involve a half step
interval of some sort as the one below does.... see video for additional
help...

Final ending
This is a classic VH style
ending with a Jeff Fiorentino twist. I used a thing I like to do quite
a bit with root and 3rd combos toward the very end of it all. Aside from
that the scale is true to VH, and of course the vibe of the ending has been kept
very VH as well....

Note:
The Phase
90 is NOT on until about half way through the E7+9 chord's ring out.
