The timing on some of this track is tricky. I did this to vary the skill level a bit, but also because timing is a key element of the Black Sabbath style and sound..

Main Theme Riff

This is obviously unless you're deaf an embellished mock up of the Iron Man main riff. I just made the Iron man riff into two segments, and give it a little bit more of a sideways groove feel than the actual riff has.. The techniques for performance are the same. My riff is actually more difficult, so if you can play my riff you should have NO TROUBLE at all with Iron Man...

Watch the tab closely though. Iron man's main riff is very subtle with its slide ins. Many people mock it for being simple and beginner, but I laugh when I hear those same people play it, because they often get it wrong and miss the little things... See video for help, but also take note of the tabs I did for my riff.. ----- means to slide in, but remember if the chord is in bold it's also picked. If it's in italic it is not to be picked, only sounded out by the act of sliding into it. These little things are very important so don't just glaze over them, or dismiss Iron man as a simple power chord riff as many people foolishly do...

This bridge is sort of the War Pigs portion of things. It's designed to be this flying attack. So you've got power chord riffing and the scary siren crazy Iron Man intro thing.. It's just all in good fun really... But we thought it sounded cool, so we went with it as an arrangement...

Interlude Riffing - Slight key change to E minor here

This is again more War Pigs style interlude riffing... This riff is all about the groove, but I threw in an element of Evil with the B flat in there. Also take note that part of the effect of this is the bass playing exactly what the guitar is. This was common in this era of Rock. A trademark of Zeppelin as well...

Solo

This is again a blending of techniques used in the leads for both Iron Man and War Pigs.. On the video we'll talk about the Jam aspect of what's happening here and what's going on with the scale shapes etc...

Take note of the chords the leads are over. These are 60's style jams. They tend to ride one chord for a long time, but the bass is very busy... So the first half of the solo is over a "C#". While the second half of the solo is over an "E". These chords are held for about 16 bars each. This solo is double time of the rest of the song, so it's counted as 138 beats per minute instead of the 69 BPM the rest of the song is...

***This solo uses 2 different sounds. The delay is only on for the 2nd half over the E, and not the first half over the C#..

Final ending - Slight key change to E minor here

This ending is easy to play but TRICKY TIMING. I did this on purpose. These are lessons, and they come with a jam track. There's a very slight feel change with the ending. I took away any shuffle on the drum beat. So the triplets are very rigid. Almost like marching triplets. Pay attention to that if you play along with the song track so that when you do the jam track you don't get lost when this part comes around...
