"Iron War Pigs from HELL"

 

This lesson's song track is mixture of Iron Man techniques as well as techniques from War Pigs.  There's a pinch of Paranoid in there as well.

Couple things to keep in mind.  I talk a lot about the "little things" on the video lesson.  Please pay attention to them.   As with any style, Black Sabbath is about the techniques and understanding the modes being used to create the various moods within the songs...   This is a fun track to jam to and it should be on most everyone's skill level to play.  But please try to look deeper than the power chords themselves.  Look for what scales are used, look for what chords are slid into what.  Remember that only notes in BOLD are picked.  Notes in Italic are slid into or are ring outs that carry over from notes already picked... 

Below is the scale I talk about on the Video Lesson that's used for the 1st half of the solo.  That's the "Iron Man" style leads over the "C#" bass line..  This is a great scale for what we're calling for this lesson, "70's style garage jams".  Loosely based on my dad's garage days.  But also this is a great scale pattern to use for anything.  The pattern below is over a "C#" as it's used on our track here..  However please be aware that it can be slid anywhere, and its position will dictate the key..   I.e. slide down 1 whole step and you're in B flat...
